The scene
Overview
A little Tibet folded into north Delhi by the Yamuna - narrow lanes of momo kitchens, monastery prayer flags, thukpa steam, butter-tea cafes and rooftop spots looking over the river. Walk in and the city you know disappears; you are somewhere else entirely, ten minutes from the metro.
Get laphing (cold spicy mung-noodle) from a lane stall, then climb to a rooftop cafe for butter tea and the river view. Spin the prayer wheels at the monastery on your way out.
