Overview
Two hundred acres of un-fenced ruins behind the Qutub, where a thousand years of Delhi lie scattered in the scrub - tombs, a stepwell, a Mughal summer palace, and Jamali Kamali, whose painted ceiling is one of the city's great secrets. No tickets, no crowds, just paths through history that almost nobody walks.
Aim for the last two hours before sunset. Find Jamali Kamali, ask the caretaker to open it, and lie back to see the ceiling - that is the whole trip in one moment.
