The scene
Overview
The 14th-century Sufi shrine where qawwals have sung in the marble courtyard for seven centuries, loudest and most transporting on Thursday evenings after the maghrib prayer. Rose petals, incense, and music that dissolves whoever you were when you walked in.
Go Thursday just before sunset, leave your shoes at a shop you'll remember, and sit through at least three qawwalis.
